Devin's Birthday Bash!

This year for Devin's birthday we had a traveling party, we picked up the party guests....

and headed over to Pier 49 Pizzeria...

Instead of cake Devin wanted dessert pizza which is why we ended up at Pier 49, it's the only place in town I could find it.

After pizza we went over to the theatre to watch Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaur. After the movie I told the kids to give me a thumbs up if they liked the movie...they said that they all liked it but I guess the credits were just more interesting.

Pool Party

So I'm very disappointed with myself for not taking the camera...yet again. Yesterday we were invited to the RS home for dinner and a pool party. The kids had a BLAST! They swam, roasted marshmallows, bounced on the tramp, dove for marbles (for each marble found, they got a gummy bear...the kids had a lot of fun with that), ate zucchini pie (tastes like apple) with ice cream, watching movies and played in their playhouse. The boys just kept going and going in fact we didn't end up leaving until 11 p.m.

They have a daughter Brennen's age that was following Ethan around like a mother hen...it was so cute. Actually all of their girls just adored Ethan, in fact their oldest (15) just couldn't stop giggling at everything he did and Ethan just ate it up!! This family has a daughter Ari's age too and she happens to be Ari's twin. When we moved to the neighborhood Ari was mistaken for this girl many times by her own father!

Getting to know Conner

So I feel like I've fallen off of the blogging bandwagon, but I'm here today to jump back on! Last weekend the kids and I were able to take a trip up to Rexburg to visit with Dan, Bridget and Conner, my cute little nephew. We had a lot of fun and really miss seeing them. The kids really loved Conner, in fact Ethan insisted on helping every chance he got (he's 2). Here is a picture of him helping me feed the little guy...thanks E!

Uncle Daniel got the board games out and Brennen & Devin had a blast. Ethan just watched from the sidelines.

The kids were able to meet up with some of their Idaho friends...here is Ari with her two friends Kara and Holly, they had fun together and we hope to get back up there soon for more fun times. Thank you Dan and Bridget for hanging out with us!

shopping & lunch

My good friend Patty was able to stop by today, I haven't seen her since we moved. It was so great to visit with her, we went shopping and out to lunch, it was such a fun day. I miss you girl!

Halloween Parade

The Elementary does a Halloween parade so the kids were able to dress up and show off their costumes. I was really surprised that the kids were able to wear their masks, every school we've gone to doesn't allow masks. Below is Devin as the Black Spidy...funny story about this. I saw Spidy coming through the hall and to get his attention I hollered "Devin", because as you all know that's the black spidy's secret name. I thought that he didn't hear me so I got a nice side shot of him...come to find out we have a picture of some other kid!! But you can be assured that this is the real black spidy.

This is Devin's teacher Mr. Hemphill, it's really quite funny because you imagine the Hulk as a big guy but Devin's teacher is quite short. It was fun to see all of the teachers dressed up, they really got into it.
Here is Brennen waiting to start the parade, he didn't want to put his hood on until he was walking, but this shot reminded me of some books that I read...Twilight. Jacob (Grant) and Edward side by side, although I didn't picture Jacob so scary.
Here he is walking along. Brennen will be all decked out for Halloween, this is the stripped version of his costume...dunno if I want to do it twice and better for Halloween then for a parade.

It was a little chilly out while we were waiting for the race to start, but we warmed up quickly as the sun inched higher and higher in the sky.

My Training companion Patty, thanks for running with me!! This photo was taken right after crossing the finish line and at this point I was seeing stars!!

Chris and Ethan (Dan & Bridget were there too!) were there to meet me as I crossed the finish line. Ari had a Young Woman's activity that day so she was unable to go, Devin was in the bathroom at the time of my arrival and Brennen was climbing the rock wall...that's where he was the whole afternoon!
