At the Spray Park

We took the kids to the spray park and Uncle Dan & Aunt Bridget went with us. Ari opted to stay home, the spray park just isn't her idea of fun anymore, but the boys had a blast. This was Ethan's first year at the spray park and as you can see from the pictures he warmed up to the idea of water being sprayed at him pretty quickly.

Marathon Pictures

It was a little chilly out while we were waiting for the race to start, but we warmed up quickly as the sun inched higher and higher in the sky.
Here is our pre-run photo of our little group. From left to right, Jennifer, Patty, Me and Dan. Here is a photo of me running toward the finish line. Finally!!! My Training companion Patty, thanks for running with me!! This photo was taken right after crossing the finish line and at this point I was seeing stars!!
Chris and Ethan (Dan & Bridget were there too!) were there to meet me as I crossed the finish line. Ari had a Young Woman's activity that day so she was unable to go, Devin was in the bathroom at the time of my arrival and Brennen was climbing the rock wall...that's where he was the whole afternoon!

Coming soon....marathon pictures

Okay so last night I got myself and the diaper bag all ready, I even had the camera ready for marathon photos...so I thought. Little did I know our batteries were low and I didn't pack extra. Needless to say we didn't get pictures, but I have many friends who did, so as soon as they come my direction I will get them on the blog.

So we started the half-marathon off pretty strong, at least for us, we had 9:30 for our first mile and we were a little over 18 after our second, and at ten we had made better time than our 10 mile long run a few weeks back. After that I lost track. I ended up running it in 2:27 but hey it's my first and I am so glad it's done! My average was 11 minute miles when all was said and done. Check out the elevation chart for our run, it's pretty cool. Go to http://www.dammarathon.com/pdfs/TDHALF%20course%20elevation.pdf to see it.

It is finished.

8 seconds...more like 1

Brennen LOVED this station, along with all of the other scouts. This is a short video (no one stayed on long) of Brennen and his almost 8 second ride...okay, okay it's only 1 second.

Cub Scout Day Camp

Brennen got to hold some animal skins, this is him holding a weasel.
Devin got to join in the fun of the bucking bronco ride.
Brennen had a lot of fun and can't wait until next month when they go again. Brennen was able to pass off quite a bit in his cub scout manuel and it's been a good experience for Brennen to be in Cubs.

F.H.E.

For family home evening we had a lesson on Nephi and his brothers Lamen & Lemuel, but we focused on doing the opposite as Lamen & Lemuel. Nephi was told to build a ship and Lamen & Lemuel made fun and didn't support their brother. We decided to work with Devin on his bike, and the rest of us had to support him and cheer him on as he practiced. Here are some pictures of Devin riding his bike.

It is official, Chris has secured a job with University Health Care in Salt Lake City. The hospital is a part of the University of Utah (sorry Brian....go utes!). It is really a great opportunity for us because after a while all of us will get 1/2 tuition off. Sounds great considering that Chris is considering a Doctorate program to become a NP. Hopefully all will work out in our favor.

Whipping Cream

Dan and Bridget brought over some strawberry shortcake for dessert the other night and boy did Ethan LOVE the whipping cream...and we were quite entertained by him.
