pinning ceremony update!

For those of you who have read the post about the pinning ceremony know that the BYU-I nursing program was charging the nursing students for their pins...amazing! Well yesterday Chris received an email from the program director telling him that the nursing students can pick up their pins and that the pins were included in the original nursing fees paid...hmmm, you would think that they could have figured that out a little earlier on...many of the students can't just stop by and pick up their pins after they have moved to NY or Florida!! What a pain.

Graduation Night

Pre-graduation photo.
Chris walking into Commencement. I was on the other side of the stadium so I wasn't able to get a lot of pictures at this ceremony. There were some great speeches given for the graduates. One piece of advice we really like was that you can learn something from everyone. He quoted President Eyring when he shared the story of his father (who was a well educated man) who, when stopped at a service station got out of his car to visit with the young man pumping his gas. When he climbed back into the car young President Eyring asked why he talked to that boy. His father responded by telling his boy that this young man had had experiences that he hadn't and that you can learn something form everyone. No matter what station in life we are, we can always learn something from the experiences of others. What a great message!
Chris druing his speech..."where will we find our council"

Pinning Ceremony

Before the ceremony started we got a pic of Chris with his fellow nursing students, this is Kyle, Sang and Chris.
Chris being pinned by Sister Dalling. Come to find out the next day that the students were going to be charged $60 for their pins, so Chris returned his...60 bucks??!!!
The family. We decided to take all of the kids to see dad get pinned. It was crazy with the whole gang there, but we're glad they were all there.

I'm a little Teapot the extended version

I'm sure that you all know the first verse to I'm a little teapot, but have you heard the others? This song was a big hit at graduation. Here it is being performed by Devin's Kindergarten class. I missed the first verse and I apologize about the shaky camera, I was holding a large child for a long time and my arm was very tired.

Kindergarten Graduate

This is in the middle of the performance they gave at their graduation.
This is Devin recieving his "diploma" from his teacher. I had the best position to take the picture and they held the envelope right in front of his face.
Devin after recieving his "diploma"...look at the excitement! One final picture of Devin with his teacher Mrs. Whaley, she did a great job with the kids and Devin liked her a lot!
