So until last year I wasn't a big fan of black Friday. I just didn't understand how anyone in their right mind would get up at 3 a.m. to stand in line for an hour to have a mad rush for items that are at rock bottom prices. Last November my sis-in-law Elaine, my bro. Brian and I went out to shop for our fantastic Christmas finds and I had a blast! This year I wasn't planning on going until something caught my eye in an ad on Thanksgiving evening, and even then I didn't commit to anything, I just didn't know if I was up for the task, besides Chris had to work that next morning so I had a time limit...enough time, but what if I caught the high and wanted to keep going? Well the next morning I woke at 3 a.m. not because of an alarm but because I was dreaming of standing in line (the front of the line mind you) waiting for the doors to open, seeing the long line winding into the parking lot...I just had to go. When I got to my store of choice I was about 30th in line (yes I counted) and was able to purchase my items at half off!!! I was so excited, that evening Chris and I tried out one of the "great finds" for the kids, they can't be disappointed you know.
The next evening Chris came home from work and poked his head into the freezer to find that all of our meat (that I got at a great price and was "stockpiling") was defrosting, our fridge/freezer had pooped out on us! Needless to say we had to run out and buy a freezer (which we were planning on doing in the future after Christmas was done and over with) and pile our fridge items into our colossal ice chest. Now we're living out of the ice chest just waiting to hear back from our landlord about the fridge situation.
