Graduation Night

Pre-graduation photo.
Chris walking into Commencement. I was on the other side of the stadium so I wasn't able to get a lot of pictures at this ceremony. There were some great speeches given for the graduates. One piece of advice we really like was that you can learn something from everyone. He quoted President Eyring when he shared the story of his father (who was a well educated man) who, when stopped at a service station got out of his car to visit with the young man pumping his gas. When he climbed back into the car young President Eyring asked why he talked to that boy. His father responded by telling his boy that this young man had had experiences that he hadn't and that you can learn something form everyone. No matter what station in life we are, we can always learn something from the experiences of others. What a great message!
Chris druing his speech..."where will we find our council"

Pinning Ceremony

Before the ceremony started we got a pic of Chris with his fellow nursing students, this is Kyle, Sang and Chris.
Chris being pinned by Sister Dalling. Come to find out the next day that the students were going to be charged $60 for their pins, so Chris returned his...60 bucks??!!!
The family. We decided to take all of the kids to see dad get pinned. It was crazy with the whole gang there, but we're glad they were all there.

Computer Trouble

So as many of you know we have had some computer trouble, so I won't be on as much to post. I am at the moment using a computer that was left here by a brother & sister-in-law (thanks!). Apparently the mother board (okay, I always laugh when someone says mother board) for our computer has a recall on it. As much of a pain as it is, it was such a blessing that it went out when it did because after this month the company would not have paid for it to be fixed, and it also helps that it is the end of school and Chris doesn't need it any longer for his assignments (although I have a lot of information on it...including the Irwin family recipe book that I will be re-typing out once we get our computer back, I had about 40 pages worth of work done!!!). Life goes on.

Soccer season has begun!

Both Brennen & Devin had games at the same time so we had to decide where the camera went. Brennen has one more game than Devin this season, so we sent the camera over with Devin. After Devin's game we went over to see if Brennen was done and we were able to get the last kick of the day on camera...and here it is. Great job Brennen! Brennen also made two goals for his team.
Devin had a great game also, he was moving down the field and getting into the action, he has improved so much from last year...great kick Devin!
Devin volunteered to throw the ball in every time it went out of bounds...and I have to say he has a pretty good throw. He was also there first in line every time they needed someone for kick off.
Here is the video of Devin's first goal of the season.

What an interesting 4th of July

Ethan didn't know what to think about the parade, but he was so good, he had no desire to run out into the middle of the road (for all of those who knew Devin at that age at a parade...we would loose him often), Ethan was too intrigued with the ice chest we brought.
Devin took a very active roll in getting his candy...
while Brennen waited for it to come to him, but I can tell you that Devin didn't have any more candy than Brennen...was it worth all the energy?
Dan & Bridget decided to torture themselves (or entertain themselves) by coming along with us to the parade.

Warning: Do not continue if you have a weak stomach...we sure do.

First off, the other day Ethan was sick (and I mean the throwing up kind), then the next day he was fine, playing having a good old time. That next day again he is throwing up & he had the trots...this was Thursday and by that evening, he was fine. Today (Friday, the fourth of July) Ari woke up and just wasn't feeling great, but she wanted to be in the Parade, so we sent her off to wait in line with the other band members and we went to save our spots on Main Street (people had set up chairs the night before). About 1 hour before the parade was supposed to start we got a phone call from Ari telling us that she wanted to go home. I then went off to take her home. About 5 minutes after we got home Ari lost her lunch (or rather her breakfast which consisted of an omelet....yuck!!!). She started to get emotional because she wanted to be in the parade, so I told her that it was her call, if she really wanted to do it then she could (the only reason I said this is because when Ethan was sick, the only time he threw up was when he had food in his stomach and since she had little to none in there, I thought she would be fine for a while....and she was). After the parade Ari had a concert in the park but was unable to finish because of how she felt. After a while I realized that an "issue" I've been having that I thought was associated with my running is actually a bug that I can't shake and seemed to be getting worse, then Chris started making the comment that he's got a knot in his stomach and Brennen said that he keeps getting cramps. What a Day, Devin, Daniel & Bridget are the only ones feeling 100%. My cousin even called to see if I could go to the grocery store for her because she has Mono!!! Even though it was a little rough, it was still a good day.

Happy 4th everyone!

Here is a video of Ari with the summer band in the parade.
